Champagne Dom Perignon - Rose 2009
97 points – James Suckling
“Peaches, fresh crushed strawberries and roses on the nose. Full‑bodied and generous. Fine tannins that frame the wine beautifully and set it up for a fresh finish. Some fruit tea and cedar undertones. Enticing finish with hints of bitterness. Savory. Drink or hold.”
Nose: Ripe stone‑fruit (peach) and crushed wild strawberries layered over fragrant rose petals, with a whisper of spice.
Palate: Medium‑to‑full‑bodied yet weightless, delivering a generous core of red‑berry compote, subtle fruit‑tea and cedar‑wood nuances, all framed by fine, chalky tannins and bright acidity.
Finish: Long, savory and gently bitter—lingering red‑fruit sweetness meets a clean, mineral-driven close.
Serve very chilled (8–10 °C) as a celebratory aperitif or alongside smoked salmon and soft‑rind cheeses to highlight its sumptuous fruit and refined structure.
